Waste Deep

New York Waste Managment

trash-gif.gif

Problem: Create an integrated campaign that gets New Yorkers to reduce the amount of waste they are producing.

Solution: Use the monuments New Yorkers love the most to raise awareness of the amount of waste we produce daily. Set up informational kiosks outside of each monument with area specific waste production stats and a running ticker/animation providing the public an impactful visual of how much actual waste they produce could fill that  monument on that day, and how many times per week/month/year that monument could be filled with our waste.

Advertise on kiosks that a numbered insulated grocery tote and reusable water bottle combo set, along with detailed information on the trash crisis are available at each ticket desk. Purchase results in a 25% ticket discount to each participating monument.

A website and social media page will be created to share daily stats and updates. Social will also act as a platform for participating #wastedeep members to post a photograph, share content, and showcase what they are personally doing to make a difference.

Set Up an art show in times square/Central Park with giant clear monuments filled with trash to raise awareness, drive people to local monuments, sell tickets/promo totes/bottles to encourage people to start making personal changes, and create sharable pictures and content.
